Distinguished from congeners in central Europe by the following characters: males with pelvic fin reaching to anus; flank yellowish, fins without white margins; mouth subinferior, lower jaw included in upper jaw; snout blunt; eye diameter 1.0-1.1 times in interorbital distance, 24-25% HL; body depth at anal origin 13-16% SL; and 21-23 gill rakers (Ref. 59043). |
Inhabits lake in deep area, below 80 m. Feeds predominantly on insect larvae, snails, crustaceans and fish eggs (Ref. 59043). |
