Max. size:  32 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 595 - 1450 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: off western Scotland, Madeira and the Azores southward to Liberia. Indian Ocean: off South Africa and Mascarene Plateau. Southeast Pacific: Chile (Ref. 9068). Elsewhere, Northwest Atlantic and western tropical Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 20-22; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 20-22
Biology:  Benthic species (Ref. 51024, 75154); juvenile mesopelagic (Ref. 51024). Found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154).
