Family:  Loricariidae (Armored catfishes), subfamily: Loricariinae
Max. size:  16.08 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7. Variable abdominal covering, a posterior complex of well-developed preanal plate bordered by usually 3 large polygonal plates, and, when present, an anterior complex of few, small, irregular platelets. Tip of snout with roundish naked area, not reaching the last pore of the infra-orbital ramus of the sensory canal.
Biology:  Inhabits creeks to large rivers with shallow to deep water, dwelling among bottom rocks and stones (Ref. 40941).
