Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Pangani River and Tanga region in East Africa (Ref. 5331). Reports from Luapula and Kando (Ref. 5331, 41590) are misidentifications for Rhabdalestes rhodesiensis (Ref. 42032).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rivers and lagoons, mostly quieter stretches of rivers (Ref. 4967).

Threat to humans:  harmless
