Dorsal soft rays (total): 87-88; Anal soft rays: 68-69; Vertebrae: 95-96. This species is distinguished by the following characters: vertebrate 28+67-68 = 95-96; absence of palatine teeth; 13-14 pectoral fin rays; no occipital pores; 2 postorbital pores (Ref. 78451). |
Biology: |
Photographed and collected at dacite lava talus areas on the sandy-ash slopes of the seamount in areas adjacent to aqueous vents. Found in association with two species of shrimp, a crab, and an anthozoan (Ref. 78451). |
