Environment:  pelagic; freshwater; depth range - 0 m
Distribution:  South America: upper Amazon River (Peru and Ecuador) and the Paraná and the Paraguay in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs may be found attached to objects in the water by tendrils on the egg's surface (Ref. 205).
