| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 5-5. This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: abdomen completely covered with small to medium-sized, irregularly shaped plates; area in front of gill opening without plates, ventrally; head with straight sides; and head and caudal peduncle narrower. Colouration: color pattern of dorsal body is uniform light brown without transversal dark bands, mostly in the caudal peduncle (Ref. 128488). | |||
| Biology: | Inhabits rivers and flooded areas at altitudes 135 to 334 m asl, in areas with gentle slope and sandy or clay bottoms (Ref. 128488). | |||
