Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-16; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7; Vertebrae: 26-26. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: D X,16, with third dorsal-fin spine longest, prolonged; pectoral rays 18; lateral-line scales 42; no papillae on posterior margin of orbit; soft part of dorsal with low scaly sheath; subopercle and interopercle are indistinctly serrated; caudal fin weakly concave centrally, with elongate filaments extending from second to uppermost and second to lowermost branched rays (Ref. 118516). | |||
Biology: | The specimen was caught in the same haul with the following species : Roa jayakari, Heniochus acuminatus, Pristigenys refulgens, Wattsia mossambica as well as several other reef-associated fish species (Ref. 118516). | |||
