Distribution:  Oceania: Upper Fly River system in Papua New Guinea. Formerly classified as data deficient in the 2000 IUCN red list of threatened species (Ref. 36508).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 19-20
Biology:  Inhabits upper reaches of shallow flowing streams in turbid waters. Feeds on pulpy fruits of terrestrial plants and terrestrial insects.
