Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Pomacentrinae
Max. size:  7.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 15 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Ambon, Seribu (off Java), Manado, Sulawesi (Indonesia), Singapore, West Malaysia, Gulf of Thailand, and Luzon (Philippines).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-16; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 12. Description: Overall brownish grey , scales streaks pale, upper caudal-peduncle fin base spot dark. dorsal spines tips blue, soft dorsal fin and anal fin margin blue. Body depth 1.9-2.2 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Adults inhabit sheltered inshore coral reefs. Easily overlooked with similarities to many other species (Ref. 48636). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
