| Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 27-34; Vertebrae: 43-45. Dark dorsum, flanks silver; black pigment on outer caudal rays (Ref. 3988). Two rows of photophores on the body (Ref. 37473). Pyloric caeca 7-8; photophores above anal fin 15-17 (Ref. 41740). | |||
| Biology: | Benthopelagic off continental and island slopes and sea-mounts (Ref. 4778). Probably does not exhibit diel vertical migrations (Ref. 4778). Minimum depth reported from Ref. 4778. | |||
