Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 150 - 200 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Mexico to Nicaragua, including Cocos Island.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 12-13; Vertebrae: 28-28
Biology:  Found over sandy bottoms associated with gravel and rocky reefs. Caught as a by-catch of industrial trawl fishing. Marketed fresh.
