Max. size:  1.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range - 1097 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Bermuda.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal soft rays: 18-18. This species is distinguished from its congeners by lacking the blue luminous tissue on body and the presence of a short dorsal appendage on stem of the mental barbel proximally to the bulb and a long distal appendage extending from the distal tip of the bulb (see Beebe, 1933, Ref. 120405;fig. 6)
