Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 16-18. Body reddish brown with patches on the cheeks and a black spot at the base of the tail. SL to 38 mm.
Description: Characterized by having dark spots on dorsal fins; longitudinal scale series 78-89; presence of head pores along upper and rear margin of eye, and two preopercular pores; rounded to slightly emarginate caudal fin (Ref. 90102). |
Occurs among mangroves (Ref. 1602). Also forms aggregations near surface of marine lakes and tidal streams (Ref. 90102). |
