This species is distinguished from all its congeners known from the Congo Basin and adjacent basins by the following characters: distinct dark-brown or black vertical bars on the lateral side of the body, at least for specimens about ?12.0?cm SL; a broad and triangular humeral process embedded under the skin; a well-serrated pectoral-fin spine (Ref. 132190). |
