Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 20 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, including Socotra.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A solitary species that inhabits fringing reefs near coral heads (Ref. 9710).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 25 March 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
