Diagnosis: |
Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Description: Characterized by yellow orange body color; presence of six narrow silvery to pale grey stripes; gill rakers on first arch 3-4+13-15, total rakers including rudiments usually 21-23 (modally 22); greatest depth of body 2.7-3.1 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Biology: |
Inhabits coral reef (Ref. 75154). Solitary or in groups, adults in pairs. Also found in sheltered rocky reefs in 2-15 m, often in silty conditions (Ref 90102). |
