This species is distinguished by the following characters: D VII + I,9; A II,8; pectoral fin rays 14; lateral-line scales 24-25 + 3-4 = 28; median predorsal scales 5; total gill-rakers 5-6 + 15; developed rakers 3-4 + 12-13 = 16-17; serrated preopercle edge, ridge smooth; body depth 2.5-2.6, and head length 2.2-2.5 in SL; snout length 4.5-5.2, eye diameter 3.0-3.4, and interorbital width 4.5-5.0, all in head length; caudal peduncle depth 1.3-1.5 in its length, and peduncle length 4.2-4.7 in SL (Ref. 50837). |
