Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Coloration on body lustrous and pretty. Semi-transparent with distinctive large red peduncular spot when adult (Ref. 48635).
Description: Characterized by yellow stripe above midlateral stripe; broad down sloping brown band from eye to middle of side with white and yellow band above and below; cheek with silvery stripe across; greatest depth of body 3.8-4.2 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Found in schools around rocky reefs in bays (Ref. 559), in current-prone areas (Ref. 48635). |
