Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  23 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Indonesia. Known from the Mekong basin.
Diagnosis:  Has 11-14 branched dorsal-fin rays; a black spot at top of gill opening; midlateral stripe on caudal peduncle (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Found in upland areas with fast flowing waters (Ref. 56749). Probably migrates into seasonally flooded forests. Feeds on periphyton, phytoplankton and algae (Ref. 12693).
