Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 36-36. Diagnosed from its congeners by having the following combination of characters: vestigial eyes; origin of dorsal fin and pelvic fin vertically opposite each other; well-developed dorsal crest and ventral crest; entire body lacking scales and color (Ref. 78629).
