Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin in Laos and China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Narrow mouth (mouth width 2.0-2.2 times in head width); barbels lacking in adults (usually two pairs of minute barbels present in juveniles less than about 5 cm SL); last simple dorsal ray serrated posteriorly; caudal peduncle 3.0-3.6 times longer than deep (Ref. 27732).
Biology:  Inhabits clear water, swift flowing streams (Ref. 43281).
