| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-6; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Escal morphology: anterior appendage narrow, elongate, and directed anteroventrally; medial appendages absent; posterior appendage minute; a pair of filamentous, branched, anterolateral appendages. Characterized further by having short subopercle, upper end rounded, without indentation on posterodorsal margin; ventral forks length of opercle 22.7-25.0% SL; ratio of lengths of dorsal and ventral forks of opercle 0.53-0.60; absence of epibranchial teeth; presence of teeth on pharyngobranchial II; upper jaw teeth 24-34, lower jaw teeth 31-38; teeth on vomer 6; dorsal fin rays 5-6; anal fin rays 4; pectoral fin rays 14-15; head length 33.7-45.8% SL; head depth 37.5-41.9% SL; premaxilla length 26.0-31.4% SL; length of lower jaw 36.5-45.8% SL; length of illicium 13.0-25.0% SL (Ref. 86949). | |||
