Distribution:  North America: Atlantic drainages from Delaware and Susquehanna rivers in New York, USA to Santee River in South Carolina, USA; Lake Ontario drainage in New York.

Biology:  Inhabits sandy, sometimes rocky, pools and runs of creeks and small to large rivers.
