Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  6.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Colorado River to Rio Grande (into lower Pecos River) drainages in Texas, USA and Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky and sandy runs and pools of headwaters, creeks and small to medium rivers. Usually occurs in clear water (Ref. 5723). Feeds on aquatic insects and algae (Ref. 79012).
