Family:  Moringuidae (Worm or spaghetti eels)
Max. size:  25.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 59 m
Distribution:  West Atlantic: northern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 98-104. This species is distinguished by the following characters: predorsal vertebrae 32-34, preanal vertebrae 42-44, total vertebrae 98-104; larva has a flatter intestinal loop than the other species; posterior lateral melanophore while anterior ventral melanophore is apparently absent; colour of freshly caught specimen gray to reddish brown (Ref. 133039).
