Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia.
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 9-10. Body relatively deep, 2.6-2.9 times in SL (Ref. 43281); a triangular distal blotch at tip of dorsal fin; barbels absent or very rudimentary (Ref. 36949).
Biology:  Inhabits mainstream of large rivers (Ref. 43281).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 25 February 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
