Distribution:  South America: Suriname and French Guiana.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Prefers clear waters and counter current zones of the rapids and the creeks with a rocky bottom. It is a gregarious species and its bright colors make it a potential aquarium species (Ref. 12225).
