Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  8.17 cm SL (male/unsexed); 7.34 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Río San Miguel drainage, Río Madeira basin in Bolivia; also Río Machupo drainage based on a photograph of a single specimen.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal soft rays: 18-19
Biology:  The type locality at the time of collection was composed of an elongated ephemeral pool measuring about 40 m long, 20 m wide, and 1.2 m deep, with brown water and dense aquatic vegetation. Other fish fishes found were only annual fishes such as Spectrolebias filamentosus and Pterolebias longipinnis (Ref. 110333).
