Description: Characterized by greyish color; trunk and tail with dark bars; narrow blackish bars on operculum; 8 caudal rays; rings 17-19 + 36-42; discontinuous superior trunk and tail ridges; inferior trunk ridge ends at anal ring; continuous lateral trunk ridge with inferior tail ridge; one or more semi-isolated dorsal projections on anterior part of median dorsal snout ridge; length of snout 2.3-3.2 in head length; depth of snout 1.7-3.0 in snout length; head length 7.0-8.5 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Occurs in coral and rubble habitats. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). |
