Max. size:  17 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: rapids of the Lower Congo River (Ref. 42510, 84205, 94499) and the Congo River main channel just upstream of Pool Malebo (Ref. 84205).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 27-28; Dorsal soft rays (total): 53-57; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 56-61; Vertebrae: 72-74
Biology:  Found in rock crevices in a rapids area (Ref. 6060). A blind species (Ref. 4537).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
