Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range 1 - 2 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Israel.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-9; Anal soft rays: 31-34; Vertebrae: 79-81. This species is distinguished by the following characters: a single light organ at mid-anterior rim of orbit, none at the lower orbital; anal-fin rays 31-34; prehaemal 29-30; total vertebrae 79-81; total lateral-line scales 63-65; dorsal-fin origin before mid-space between pelvic- and anal- fin origins; abdominal ridge without black margin (Ref. 120632).
Biology:  Apparently a shallow water dweller collected near the surface (Ref. 120632).
