| Distribution: | Eastern Atlantic: Canary Islands to Angola but not recorded from the Gulf of Guinea; between 45°N and 50°N, and off South Africa. Also known from the Northwest Pacific. Leptostomias gracilis, Leptostomias macropogon, Leptostomias longibarba, Leptostomias bermudensis, Leptostomias analis and Leptostomias leptobolus are probably synonyms of a single species (the entire complex needs a thorough study, Ref. 4468). | |||
