Family:  Fundulidae (Topminnows and killifishes)
Max. size:  3 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 2 years
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  North America: occurs only in the USA from Georgia in Ogeechee River to Alabama in Perdido River, south to central Florida. One record from Escatawpa River drainage in southeastern Mississippi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits surface waters of swamps, vegetated sloughs, and quiet water areas of creeks and small rivers. 2.9 cm max TL (Ref. 5723). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
