Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range - 200 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaii.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 48-51; Anal soft rays: 23-24; Vertebrae: 62-63. Preserved body color, uniformly yellow with no marks on body and fin. Small pelvic fin 3-4% of SL; segmented rays. Scales on upper edge of opercle absent. Large eyes, 5-6% SL; 1/4 of HL. Lachrymal large, 5.3-5.6% SL;1/4 of HL (Ref. 39393).
Biology:  Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 57178.
