Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: southern Baja California, Mexico and the Gulf of California to Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits coastal waters and lagoons (Ref. 9118). Feeds mainly on planktonic crustaceans (Ref. 9118). Common in local markets (Ref. 9118).
