This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: total vertebrae 124 (precaudal 26), D 121 (67 X 44, all spiny rays 77); pungent spines of dorsal fin are associated with vertebrae 70-80; preoperculomandibular pores 6; developed scales only on the caudal part of the body (Ref. 130207). |
