Max. size:  5.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Western Argentina and southern Bolivia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-9; Anal soft rays: 9-10. With two rows of dorsoventrally elongate markings on the lateral surface of the body. Distinguished from J. lineata by the absence of (1) a swelling between the urogenital opening and the anterior base of the anal fin in females and (2) a mandibular canal Pore W.
Biology:  Viviparous (Ref. 45800).
