Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 11-11. Preopercular spines usually 3, upper spine short, subequal with next; accessory spine absent. Suborbital ridge usually with 2 spines under eye and several more spines behind eye. Interopercular flap absent. |
Biology: |
Taken over sand and mud bottoms by trawling at depths from 8-64 m. Young and juveniles frequently found in Darwin Harbor (Ref. 9790). |
