Biology:  Collected from blackwater streams, where it occurs syntopically with C. arcuatus. A single site where the species was also collected near Cruzeiro do Sul, middle Rio Juruá basin, Brazil, the Paraná de Pentecostes, had relatively turbid water, where C. granti was collected syntopically with Corydoras. leopardus, C. trilineatus, C. leopardus and an unidentified Corydoras sp. (similar to Corydoras elegans), but not Corydoras arcuatus. Sites where the species was collected in the Atalaia do Norte-Benjamin Constant area ranged from streams with relatively turbid water (Igarapé Branco) to typical blackwater (Igarapé Boa Vista). The species was collected syntopically with Corydoras ambiacus, C. elegans, C. sodalis at Igarapé Branco, with C. ambiacus, C. arcuatus, Corydoras leucomelas, C. trilineatus at Igarapé da Aldeia and with C. elegans, C. leucomelas at Igarapé Boa Vista. At the Igarapé da Aldeia, it was observed in mixed schools with C. ambiacus, C. leucomelas and also presumably with C. arcuatus (Ref. 137973).
