Diagnosis: |
Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13. Description: Characterized by absence of noticeable rings or tubercles on relatively smooth skin; rings 12 + 27 - 28; head and body is highly compressed (Ref. 90102). |
Biology: |
Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Found in sand bottoms with sparse Zostera and Halophilia in 4-12 m (Ref 90102). Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 128812. |
