Max. size:  3.61 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Rio Araguaya basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Can be diagnosed from its closely related species Hemigrammus taphorni by the following characters: absence of humeral spot (vs. presence); a longitudinal band in the caudal region of the body and absence of caudal spot (vs. presence of caudal spot); 32-35 scales on lateral line (vs. 30-32) (Ref. 87321).
