Biology: |
Occurs in headwaters and also in the lower reaches of rivers. Its food depends on the biotope in which it is found, but it feeds mainly on arthropods. It prefers larvae of aquatic insects like Trichoptera, Chironomidae & Ephemeroptera and ants, which are found on the river vegetation or those which fall into the water (Ref. 12225). Maximum length reported to reach 4 cm TL (Ref. 2059). |
