| Biology: | Inhabits exposed, shallow and sandy beaches (Ref. 4983). The stomach contents of the specimens which were examined indicate that H. theliodon is a bottom feeder. Its diet includes small fishes (cichlids), gastropods, lamellibranchs and insect larvae. Large quantities of bottom debris were also ingested (Ref. 558). | |||
