Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits areas with a hard bottom (sand, shingle or, less frequently, rock). Often found amongst stands of aquatic plants (Ref. 4983). At a size range of 7.5-11.5 cm SL, this species feeds mainly or even exclusively on mollusks. Both bivalves and gastropods are eaten in approximately equal proportions (Ref. 558).
