Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-17; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 29-31
Biology:  Restricted to rocky substrates. Microhabitats of this species range from very gentle to moderately steep slopes. Feeds on chironomid larvae, filamentous Chlorophyta, diatoms and macrophytes.
