Max. size:  15.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in sheltered bays with mud substrates, exposed sandy beaches, open off-shore waters with rock and shingle bottoms, and a fairly exposed bay with a hard substrate. Depth range extends to at least 7.5 m (Ref. 4983). Feeds on small Haplochromis (Ref. 558).
