Max. size:  7.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 400 - 511 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: off northeastern Taiwan and Australia.
Diagnosis:  This species is distinguished by the following characters: vermiculate color pattern on dorsal surface; numerous small tubercles interspersed among principal tubercles on dorsal surface; principal tubercle on rostrum trifid; principal tubercles on tail simple, never bifurcate; dorsal lobe of esca with one pair of cirri on tip and two or three lateral pairs of small flaps; skull length 31.1-34.1% SL, head depth 25.7-32.4% SL; interorbital width 13.5-16.2% SL, disk margin 43.5-49.4% SL; lateral-line neuromasts in ventral series 3-5 (mainly 3) (Ref. 127411).
