Colour of male (female similar) greyish on upper back, white or pale yellow on ventral part; a broad brown stripe on side at eye level. with several white spots along lower edge of this stripe, mainly on posterior half; upper pectoral-fin base with a small black spot; middle of dorsal fin with a pale-edged black spot (Ref. 90102). |
Occurs in coastal reefs with mixed weed and coral; often on turbid, silty areas. Usually seen on floor of caverns or under ledges. Solitary or in small groups (Ref. 90102). |
