Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Corinae
Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 5 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California to Colombia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Frequently found over sand and mud bottoms of mangroves and estuaries but occasionally found over rocky bottoms of the marine coast. Not utilized for human consumption.
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 23 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
